041 - Clay flower update

Remember when I talked about how much I love clay flowers, and that I wanted to try and make clay flowers? Well you already saw the clay hair flower trial i made.

So now it's time for me to introduce you - My clay flower!!

This are not the professional kind of clay flowers you see on Etsy and other blogs, because I just learned how to make them. This are my babies and will be with me on the best day of my life :)

{ They are not finished as you can see, but I love them already ♥ }

Second my other purple flowers, I don't know where to use them, but I like them.

I also made different kind of small white flowers to add more color to the bouquet

When I shot the flowers they were are mixed so if you see a dirty one or some missing piece - That's one of the trials - Oops! sorry

Now you know my flowers, next I'll share with all of you how I made my purple roses - so stay tuned!

040 - Excited ohhh so much!!

OMG!!! I can’t believe it, a couple of weeks a go I told my FH about the Budget Savvy Bride Contest! by Project Wedding, then I started complaining about how I NEVER win anything and I have the worst of the lucks when it comes to contest.

He said I should send him some stuff and that he will do the work cause he knew that we got a chance :)(Yeah right! I thought...) I just did what he requested for the fun of it and forgot about it.

Today I found out we got selected!!!!! yay, I know I shouldn’t be sooo exited since I checked the contest and we are the last ones (yes I did vote)lol, but since I never get selected on anything, this would be my first!!! lol

Here's my actual Inspiration board, I show you how I did it on this post -> (Link) and now Its right there on the list!!

I don’t feel comfortable asking people to vote for us, but I can tell you to check the contest!!

> Link Here <

I'm excited and truly overwhelmed by this since to me just being selected is such an honor :) ( just in case our entry is "Joy's plan for our wedding")

There's awesome wedding savvy advice there and beautiful weddings posted, since ours is just a plan on how we want the wedding to be and save money along the way, I feel like we don't have much of a chance, but Hey!! there's always ideas that could be helpful for others!

How's your luck this kind of stuff ladies?

039 - Sewing the update

I thought I should start this post showing you all the very first DIY project I've done for the wedding, and the one I have no record of the process lol, I'm planning on adding some small white clay flowers because it's TOO purple. I was so excited about adding purple to everything that I didn't even thought about not having a purple garter, so here it is:

{ I'll post the last part when I add the flowers and final touches to it, I promise. }

Now to what I really wanted to show you all!!!!

As usual > SCROLL DOWN < and If your name is Mr. Poodle DONT!

{ Sneak peek to my working scenario }

This is not the update for the dress, cause I'm still trying to figure out how the top part is going to look (I just cant seem to feel happy about it yet) but here's the undergarment.

First the top: I haven't finish the outer lines cause I was hoping I could tone a lil bit before the wedding, that's why that will be one of the last parts to finish - I have the back part ready to be tighter just in case :)

{ Still has clothe pins on the sides }

The bottom (crinoline) : As some of you read before, I'm making the dress of recycled fabric and the ones I bought, like the tulle I got them on a huge sale; so I'm really excited about the final price and cant wait to finish!!

Anyway, for the bottom part I started with a huge circle of white fabric, this will be the base where all the tulle layers are sewing to, each layer is separated by height so the bottom part end up with more material and bigger, I used two different kinds of tulle, a very thick one and a soft one, so I could add body with the thick and soften it up with the other one on top.

{ A look from the top }

{ Laying on the floor }

{ Layers and more layers }

Now here's all ready to be use and trashed on the future (muuuahh ha ha ha!) - yeah in case you wonder that was my evil laugh again

{ The crinoline and undergarments together }

{ and that's me trying not to show my excitement!! }

{ The front view }

Now just so I don't feel so bad about not showing anything from the actual dress. Here the lace I bought for the top, I hated at first but now I'm starting to like it. It's so hard to be completely happy about my fabric purchases, sometimes I wonder if it's just me or you also had to face the "yeah I love it - ohh no I don't like it -Dang! I think I made a mistake" kind of shopping.

{ lace with my hand on the back }

Every one know that I'm in love with my purple paper flowers =) (Link) both of them ( I'm making origami blossoms and purple roses) but today I saw this ones and even tho I will not cheat on mines, I have to say " they are awesome!!" I wish I saw this ones before, I could have used the purple fabric left overs to make them, wait a minute! maybe I still can =) I just need to find a place for them hehe

037 - Rustic flavor

Another Etsy seller to love! (Link) As usual Esty is a never ending ocean of gorgeous ideas for projects or just finds for the wedding. I don't really know how many favorites sellers I have there but Gosh!! every time I run into this cute finds I droll over the keyboard.

{ Image Source (Link) }

I'm so in love with this little nest, I wasn't thinking on having something to hold our rings, just because I don't know who's job that's going to be, but maybe I can add this cute little nest to my, so far kind of long, DIY list :) Have you seen the cute and easy nest that Mrs. Expresso posted here ?

{ Image Source (Link) }

And how about a basket to match!! I'm in love with it, but since I don't have a flower girl, I might just make it to go jump around the house with this on a green little dress lol

where are you putting your rings for the ceremony?

036 - Publique Living ♥

I found this awesome The PopMat Paper Placemat by Public Living (Link)the other day and I thought I should share it, cause they are gorgeous!

Now I do think that $26.00 dollars each is a price I wouldn't pay, because I'll need almost 190 of those lol!! but I think there are soooo adorable!!

I also found this awesome paper votive cuffs (Link), they are so cute and a great inspiration for a DIY project

All this paper cute stuff made me remember some cut pop up I saw a while a go, I remember they even had templates and instructions so to anyone feeling crafty here's some cool projects. (Link)

035 - Boutonniere what??

I have to confess that I had to learn how to pronounce that word and even now and after tons of training I just cant pronounce it!! Now as you can guess, and because I knew so little about weddings (besides the obvious white dress, ceremony and party) boutonnieres where one of the things I run into just now.

At first I saw all the normal ones with natural flowers ( I have nothing against them ) but I knew form the beginning that Mr. Poodle would not dig the "wearing a flower thing" So I started the search for ideas about different boutonnieres that would not include flowers on them, or at least not so obvious flowers.

{ Image Source (Link) }

After I started making the purple roses for my bouquet, I started thinking about ways to add some more green and in honor to the Irish part on Mr. Poodle I thought it would be nice to add shamrocks, clay ones for the boys boutonnieres.

Anyway here some of the ones Ive found, that as always I want to share:

There's a lot of really cute ideas out there!! I cant wait to start working on Mr.Poodle's, it's going to be fun! :)

I've seen couples mixing material on the bouquets and boutonnieres, what you think about them? Where are you getting yours?

About this blog

I am a Spanish speaker and I started this blog as a way to learn English, I was blogging from Chile while we waited on our Visa process so I could move to California and we could have our green and purple wedding. So a big portion of this planning happened while we were still dating long distance.
